Drawn Masculinities is an interactive workshop that will explore how comics can be used as a political and artistic method to reflect on masculinity and gender norms.
Taking place in New York during the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), the session will be facilitated by Dag Schölper — Managing Director of Bundesforum Männer, an umbrella organization for gender equality-oriented men’s policy in Germany and member of MenEngage Alliance — and Sari Kamiyama, a researcher in men and masculinities studies at Waseda University in Japan and an individual member of MenEngage Alliance.
Dag Schölper and Sari Kamiyama were part of the team that created Are (All) Boys Really Like That, a comic strip series made through a collaborative process by members of the Global Youth Reference Group of MenEngage Alliance.
