The Federal Forum for Men is the umbrella organisation for organisations that are active throughout Germany in the field of boys', men's and fathers' work and policy. We represent the interests of boys, men and fathers with a focus on gender equality.
The Federal Forum for Men is a non-governmental organisation that carries out gender policy work. As a nationwide umbrella organisation, the Federal Forum for Men has been networking actors active in the field of boys’, fathers’ and men’s work since 2010. Its core tasks are political advocacy and professional networking. The main focus is on the concerns of boys, men and (grand)fathers and the conflicts that arise from their own and society’s images of masculinity and gender. The Federal Forum is the point of contact for associations and politicians when it comes to shaping gender equality policy.
The organization currently has 38 member organisations. They come from the fields of boys’, men’s and fathers’ work as well as areas such as work, education, violence, sexuality and health. They are active throughout Germany and across the country.
The office of the Federal Forum for Men in Berlin currently employs 8 people. In addition, it is supported on a voluntary basis by a 7-member board and 4 specialised groups with 41 members.
During its existence, the Federal Forum has gained broad experience in all fields of men’s policy and men’s work. It is recognised by other stakeholders in the field as an actor, interest group and point of contact.
