MenEngage Alliance at CSW66: Summary Report
A summary on the participation of MenEngage Alliance and its members at the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66), March 14-25 March, 2022. The report includes a summary of policy framings from CSW66 relating to engaging men and boys in achieving gender and climate justice.
This report shares the key themes, issues, and agreements at CSW66. The focus of CSW66 was on the links between gender and climate justice. This was put front-and-center with the official priority theme of “achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes.”
In addition, this summary report shares some of the key ideas that MenEngage Alliance advocated for including in the official Agreed Conclusions of CSW66. This includes the call for moving beyond the roles and responsibilities of men and boys as individuals, to centering and addressing systemic transformation through working to dismantle patriarchal masculinities and systems.
The report also summarizes the various Side Events, Parallel Events, and several other activities of MenEngage Alliance networks and members at CSW66, including:
