Thank you to Todd Minerson, departing Co-Chair of MenEngage Alliance

20 July 2018

On behalf of the MenEngage Alliance Board and Global Secretariat team, we express our sincerest words of gratitude to Todd Minerson for all his support given to this network during his two years as Global Co-Chair, and the many years before that as a member of the Global Steering Committee and later the Global Board.

Todd, in his previous role as Director of White Ribbon Canada, stepped up his involvement during a time of transition for MenEngage Alliance. His dedication and insights were pivotal to getting the Global Alliance where we are today – not least in establishing the independent organization that serves to support the network with an extended Global Secretariat team to coordinate it.

Todd has provided steady support to the team in times of great change and development, and in the realization of dreams and potential for the Alliance’s next steps. He has navigated sometimes challenging conversations with excellent facilitation. Less visibly, but certainly no less importantly, he stepped up to provide hands-on support to meet some of the pivotal challenges of a growing network.

Stepping down from the Co-Chair position after two important years in the role, Todd said: “In our last in-person Board meeting in Ottawa, it was wonderful to recall the long story of MenEngage’s evolution. I am forever grateful for the seminal meetings in Kathmandu, Mexico City, Stockholm, Oslo, Coimbra, Washington DC, New York, Cape Town, and of course the global MenEngage events in Rio and Delhi.

“My passion for working for gender equity started there, but does not end here. I will continue to find ways to be an ally in my own life, and hopefully in the movement you are all such an incredible part of. It has been a privilege to walk beside each of you, my gratitude for all you have taught me is unlimited.”

We are grateful to Todd for all he has done, and we look forward to new and exciting collaborations in our advocacy for engaging men and boys in women’s rights and gender justice.
