The Men in Focus collection includes 18 resources that aim to strengthen prevention efforts by addressing the link between dominant forms of masculinity and men’s violence against women. The core components of the collection are:

  • Men in Focus Practice Guide: This guide outlines a long-term, intersectional approach for practitioners, offering practical strategies for engaging with men and boys. It covers how to challenge social norms, build rapport, foster empathy, and develop effective prevention initiatives.
  • Men in Focus Evidence Review: This evidence review synthesises existing research on masculinities and violence against women, providing a deeper understanding of the links between them.
  • Practitioner Resources: This section offers a variety of tools, including 14 videos, three infographics, and eight support guides. These resources translate the key messages from the evidence review and practice guide into accessible formats to help practitioners implement evidence-informed approaches in their work.
  • National Consultation Report: This report, titled Strengthening national approaches to addressing masculinities and working with men and boys to prevent gender-based violence, shares findings from consultations with Australian stakeholders. It identifies key opportunities and priorities for strengthening the infrastructure around engaging with men and boys in prevention work.
