MenEngage Alliance South Asia (MEASA), together with regional and global partners, invites proposals for sessions at this regional Convening, a politically grounded, critically reflective, and action-oriented gathering on masculinities and gender justice across Asia.

We especially welcome proposals from those often under-represented at regional and global conferences, grassroots and community-based organisations, youth-led groups, first-time presenters, and people with lived experience of the issues under discussion. You do not need to be a researcher or part of a large organisation to apply. Practice-based, community, and movement knowledge is valued equally alongside research evidence.

What We’re Looking For

Proposals that connect clearly to the Convening’s key areas of engagement:

  • Power, Politics, and Backlash
  • Gender-Based Violence and Everyday Masculinities
  • Militarisation, Conflict, and Peacebuilding
  • Political Economy of Care, Work, and Masculinities
  • Bodies, Identities, and Justice

Cross-cutting themes:

  • Digital Spaces and Masculinities
  • Young People and Future Pathways
  • Climate Justice and Ecological Futures
  • Going Beyond the Gender Binary

Session Formats Accepted

  • Pre-curated panels
  • Workshops
  • Oral presentations
  • Masterclasses
  • Small-group dialogues
  • Artistic or cultural sessions
  • Other participatory formats (with a clear rationale for the method)

All sessions, including those with presentations or speaker inputs, must include a clear interactive or participatory component. Workshops, pre-curated panels, and oral presentations run 90 minutes.

Who Can Apply

Individuals, organisations, or collectives. Where more than one facilitator is proposed, the team should reflect diversity across region, country, gender, lived experience, and marginalised community representation.

Submission Guidelines

Use clear, accessible language; avoid jargon.

Proposals may be submitted in English and will be judged on ideas and design, not fluency or polish.

Sessions should not primarily promote an organisation, product, publication, or funder.

AI or digital tools may assist with drafting, but the proposal must reflect your own ideas, experience, and session plans.

Deadline

Apply by 15 October 2026
